Behind
the camera
I am Nico, a Colombian photographer based in Sydney. I work in English and Spanish, across nine kinds of session, and what I look for is always the same: the moment nobody posed for.
Sydney, in two languages
I came from Colombia and settled in Sydney, and most of the people I photograph arrived the same way: weddings held far from where the family lives, quinceañeras that two countries follow from their phones, children growing up between two languages. Being able to work in Spanish or in English is not a detail here. It is what lets people stop performing in front of the camera.
I work across weddings and couples, quinceañeras, portraits, maternity, kids, events, company, night clubs and real estate. They are different jobs with different rhythms, but none of them is about arranging people. I arrive early, I stay until the end, and I try to be the person nobody notices until the photos come back.

Three things
I care about
Not a style statement. Just what I actually do on the day.
- 01
Not interrupting
The best photograph of a night is almost never the one somebody stopped for. I move around the event instead of running it.
- 02
Choosing
I deliver an edited selection, not the raw material. Deciding which frames are worth keeping is part of what you are paying for.
- 03
Keeping the date
We agree a delivery date before the session, and that date is kept. No chasing me afterwards.
Nine lines,
one way of looking
The portfolio is the honest version of all this: every session I have published, grouped by the kind of work. Open whichever one is closest to what you need.
Shall we
talk about it?
Message me with the date and the kind of session you have in mind. I reply within a day, in English or Spanish.
